Not center. That place needs a little up keeping.
There was a very friendly woman receptionist name start with p. But then, other man staff who just wanted me leave as soon as I check out. I was treated as if I were a stranger. No common toilet.
So feelings about staff is mixed
very laid-back and relaxing and clean hostel, people here are beyond hospitable. and it's cool to sleep on an island surrounded by nature.
I stayed for an overnight here with my boyfriend to look around before travelling further. The reviews surpised me because I found this place chill with nice vibes and and amazing view to Danube. We have been talking with the receptionist and said the hostel is under reconstruction and they are doing really good job. 15 minutes to Parlament and city center and still quiet with loads of trees, parks and the beautiful music fountain...It is still very cheap and definately worth the price! Thank you guys I will stay here again and recommend to my friends whose are visiting Budapest. Wish you the bests for the summer! :)
The view of the balcony is fantastic, the location is near the city center and on the Danue, you don't need car, rooms are great, very clean, the terrace is extra good. the price is friendly too.
On my second night a group of what i can only describe as hippies came along. They stayed up quite late and until 4am me and another in the room did not manage to get any sleep as they were talking very loudly.
Had a 24hr reception. The staff was extremely nice and helpful, I arrived in the evening, and after settling in the receptionists were more than happy to talk about what to visit and see, as they knew the area around quite well.
There was a shortage of sochets to charce something up. The rooms were small and bad ventilation. The matras is thin and did not sleep very well.
The surrounding is good. On margrit island and a good view over the Danube.
Bathroom was good.
Because there was a nice crowd Of people it was very enjoyable
This was my first ever hostel, because I was always quite sceptical of going to one, but the low price of just €10/night plus the brilliant location convinced me. We stayed in one of the smaller dorms with 4 bunk beds and lockers. The bathroom was clean and modern, this hostel has been renovated quite a bit. The kitchen area is a nice place to hang out, but the fridge can be quite full. So before you leave, take out all of your stuff or give it to others :-) The large terrace is amazing with it's riverside view, and we would hang out here drinking and talking to people from all over the world who were also travelling. It's true that you have to go through the bigger dorms to reach the terrace, but they are working on a solution! Budapest is a city where every night is saturday night, especially in the summer. It's nice to have a clean hostel to get back to easily with tram 4/6 riding 24hrs a day. The island is huge and hosts clubs, bars, restaurants, a big open air swimming pool/waterpark and even a petting zoo. The staff was friendly and helpful, nothing but good things to say. Coming back next year!
I have to emphasize this is a hostel with mixed dorms so you cannot expect nothing more. But it has a great location - on the island near the city and it was the cheapest accommodation I found. The owner is very nice and ready to advice you on where to go. Dorms were clean, with lockers. Bathrooms were not biggest or nicest but clean. Only you have to pass through bigger rooms to get there if you are living in the smaller one.
There were mostly young people that came to Budapest to party and have fun. There is a big terrace over the river where you can hang out but it closes at 11 p.m. and party people have to go to a near club (or somewhere else) so it is not loud at night.
